[...] Next up I got a kind e-mail from Danny Wallace, replying to the text that I’d sent him from the Soulfly gig the other night. I’d spotted that from a distance the Skindred guitarist bore an uncanny resemblance to Mr Wallace. Okay, well, it was just a specky bloke with a similar hair cut, but I thought that Danny would appreciate it. That arrived at 10:47 am this morning. [...]

I think the sound guy just wasn't up to it that night to be honest. The guitars were lost in the bass.

Excellent set from Soulfly though. Playing Roots Bloody Roots about three songs in was surprising, but it shows just how confident Max is with his new stuff.

Skindred are much, much better when they're headlining. Benji commands the stage like nobody else I've seen.

Well worth seeing, in my opinion. There was a review too on the official Soulfly forum from a guy at the Dublin show who said much the same.

This evening I was singing the lyrics to "Mars" to young Owen. It got him to sleep in no time. I say "singing", I really mean growling!

Sounds fantastic, i'm hoping i can blag some tickets off Rock Sound for the 7th when they play london. Skindred are amazing, their album is well worth buying and just grows and grows on you.
I went to the Kerrang XXV show with Bullet For My Valentine on saturday and Still Remains were playing, and were fantastic. They're a band of Christians (as opposed to a Christian band!) and really heavy with great songs. I'll post some shots of them on my blog later today, they're well worth a listen.
