Without starting my own blog in this comment slot, I think you have succeeded. I've been reading your blog for around a year now, and I have found it to be encouraging - my personal thing was work, as my contract is ending in September. However, I got a job last week - and like you, I'm returning to my old University town... so I was reading this post with interest!! But it's the insight - other people have the same hopes and fears, and seeing how other people deal with it, but also in a detached way (because apart from my comments you don't know a thing about me)  - that's why this blog works.
So basically, keep doing what you're doing. I read a couple of other 'Christian' blogs, but they're too conscious somehow. But it's the personal bits that do it for me.
