My word, what an ordeal.

I felt so sorry for these lovely people yesterday. Not only did they have to put up with ever-changing travel arrangements, and then have to eventually drive from Glasgow to Cellardyke in the dark, but they also had the added trouble of having to try to speak with me over the phone in a language that wasn't their own.

They did remarkably well, and their English was certainly far better than my non-existent Spanish. Babelfish and I did our best to try to communicate with them.

Barcelona was a bad place to travel from last week! My brother and his family have been on hoiliday in Barcelona for the last 10 days. They were supposed to fly home (Barcelona -> Edinburgh) on Friday, but due to some general strike in Barcelona on Friday their homeward flight was cancelled.

So at short notice they had to find accomodation in Barcelona for an extra night. Then they had to find a flight home... but they couldn't get one, so they eventually got a flight to Amsterdam, but couldn't get a connecting flight to Edinburgh until today, so they had to find accomodation in Amsterdam for the night. Hopefully they'll make it back to Edinburgh at some point today!
