They've started recording now, will take a break for the "Sick of the Studio 07" tour and return to recording in August. Lars was hoping that they could get the album out by the end of 2007, or January 2008 at the latest. Remember, this is Metallica ... not Guns 'N Roses! And that it's Rick Rubin producing. Nuff said! Seemingly Metallica did all the writing before they went into the studio with producer Rick Rubin.
