Museum trip report

Saturday, June 16th, 2007

This afternoon Jane, Rich and I had a very successful and educational trip to the Scottish Fisheries Museum. As it says on the sign out front: it’s bigger than it appears.
It’s a sign!
The place was littered with signs instructing visitors:
Please do not take photographs.
The intense light from camera flashes can damage the objects on display

Too wet to paint

Saturday, June 16th, 2007

Our friend Rich is over from sunny Stirling this weekend.
The plan was to repaint the shed and fence (Cuprinol ‘Autumn Brown’ in case you were wondering). Somehow, I don’t think that’s going to happen today.
Not unless we dismantle the shed, rebuild it indoors, dry it with a hair drier, repaint it, dry it with […]

Bah!

Wednesday, June 13th, 2007

I’ve been using my ‘repaired’ O2 Xda Orbit for a little under 24 hours now.
I’ve had to do a soft reset twice now. Both times after using Pocket e-Sword Bible software.

I got my O2 Xda Orbit back

Monday, June 11th, 2007

On Saturday I got my phone back from the O2 Repair Centre; I picked it up from the O2 shop at the Gyle Shopping Centre in Edinburgh — more of that in a moment.
There was a note attached:
Dear Customer,
That’s me.
Thank you for sending your mobile phone to us.
Your handset has been examined by one of […]

No go Monte Carlo

Monday, June 11th, 2007

Ach well, the dream was good while it lasted.
Remember that post last week about my doing Sunday cover during the summer in little ol’ Monte Carlo? And remember that I phoned and offered which Sundays I could do, and was told that that was fine and he’d phone back on Thursday with details?
Well, I […]
