Its comparitively close to civilisation, but as soon as you leave the A9 at Pitlochry you feel that you're getting more and more remote with every passing mile. And then, just when you think you're in the middle of nowhere, a 4 star hotel with a resort, a swimming pool, boat hire and a top restaurant suddenly appears. We stayed there for Fiona's birthday one year (in Feb) and it was all snowy and lovely. I love that hotel.
