A day of Metallica on TV, visitors we never saw and Jane in hospital

Saturday, August 30th, 2008

Nice bucket!
Well, that’s been an interesting day. It began with me staying up far too late (past midnight, no less) to watch Metallica perform at the Reading and Leeds Festivals on BBC 2 and ended with me leaving Jane in hospital in Dundee overnight for observation.
I woke this morning with a start. Somehow (unconsciously?) I […]

From London to Inverness

The view from my hotel window in London last week.
Last week, from Sunday to Friday, I was in London on a course: PHP Programming and MySQL for Web Development with StayAhead Training.
The course was a good introduction to PHP and MySQL, and I was the only person on the course (which you’ll know already if […]

New Metallica song: The Day That Never Comes

Sunday, August 24th, 2008

Another new Metallica song — their first single — from their forthcoming album Death Magnetic: The Day That Never Comes.

Sounds good — I’m looking forward to hearing the […]

Mum’s here!

Thursday, August 7th, 2008

This is my Mum on 12seconds.tv
Mum’s visiting us in Anstruther right now, hence the slightly quieter than usual blog. I’m being more sociable than simply sitting in front of my PC all evening … he writes on his PC, with his Mum hovering at his left shoulder!
This evening we took a walk down by the […]

Saying farewell to Tim Morris

Sunday, August 3rd, 2008

This morning Jane and I attended the farewell service of The Revd Canon Tim Morris, from his position as Rector of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Murrayfield, Edinburgh. He’s retiring from The Scottish Episcopal Church and heading over to The Anglican Church of Canada for a year or two … for an adventure […]
