A sledge?!

Saturday, July 14th, 2007

Today we were down in Selkirk again for a flying, less-than 24 hours, visit. We’re efficient like that.
During that time we took in visits to:

The Fireplace in Hawick (they sell fires)
a sawmill near St Boswells (they make and sell garden sheds)
Keith McLean’s carpet showroom in Selkirk
the civic amenities site (the dump!)

Just to bring you all […]

Weekend in pictures

Monday, May 21st, 2007

Saturday morning

I was in Selkirk again on Saturday helping Mum sort things prior to putting her house on the market. My brother Eddie and I focussed on the study, where we’d dumped various books, boxes, and files from previous weeks’ tidying. It was satisfying putting right the mess we’d made before.

Clearing out the box room on Saturday

Tuesday, May 1st, 2007

You’ve been framed!
Well, that was a busy weekend! On Friday evening Jane and I drove down to Selkirk again to help Mum get the house ready for selling. On Saturday morning my brother Edmund joined us and we set to work on clearing The Box Room, a task that was actually (and thankfully) […]

The plan
Last week I was in Selkirk, […]

Solving the mystery of Mum’s unstartable PC

Sunday, February 18th, 2007

Yesterday my brother Eddie and I drove down to Selkirk for a four hour, military-precise exercise to build a new bed for Mum and return her now up-to-date and working PC. At least that was the plan.
The bed was built in under an hour, a spot of lunch was taken before Eddie set to work […]

Wedding photographs

Friday, October 6th, 2006

On Friday 15 September, as Jane and I were driving down the road to Selkirk we both suddenly realised that we’d left our digital cameras at home. Usually that’s not much of a problem, but we were heading down to attend the wedding of our dear friends Kenny Fyfe and Chris Goble in Selkirk.
Thankfully my […]
